Today we come to show you the research we have done in BrickDose about the next model of the Ultimate Series of LEGO Technic that will arrive on June 1st of this year.

As usual since 2016, every two years we have a new model of the LEGO Technic Ultimate Series, already two years since the last launch when in 2018 LEGO surprised us with the spectacular and unforgettable Bugatti Chiron.

This year it is the turn of the third model of the LEGO Technic Ultimate Series of supercars, following the 42056 - Porsche 911 GT3 RS and 42083 - Bugatti Chiron. This series is one of the most expected by the fans and therefore require our special attention.

As with the two previous ones, the new supercar will also come in the massive 1:8 scale, it is important to note that the price will suffer a considerable increase reaching up to 379€ which could translate into other markets as about 400$. We hope that this price rise will be worthwhile, as it will become the second most expensive LEGO Technic set in history right behind the massive 42100 - Liebherr R 9800 Excavator set.

At BrickDose we have conducted extensive research to discover and determine with certainty what the mysterious supercar will be and we believe we have succeeded!

After this short presentation we start with our research.

Teaser.

As it happened on January 30th 2018, LEGO published this January 28th, a teaser of what will be the next model, this time the news came from the Spielwarenmesse 2020, where they presented the poster and a small video that we leave you here:

Later LEGO published this same teaser on its social networks.

Unlike what happened in 2018 where the teaser made it clear that it was the Bugatti Chiron, this year the presentation was much more mysterious since they didn't give us any clues beyond the brand, with the Bugatti Chiron teaser they were much more explicit because they used the #Chiron, making it clear that it was the Bugatti Chiron.

The poster itself is simple, only shows the silhouette of the car, the Lamborghini emblem and below the slogan "Build for Real" at first it seems an empty teaser and very simple, later you will see that it is not

The Possible Options.

After dozens of rumors in recent months about which brand and model would be chosen, finally the teaser presented at the Spielwarenmesse 2020 clarified it for us, the brand chosen was Lamborghini, but left us with a big question, which Lamborghini model would be the one chosen?

It's not a simple question, Lamborghini doesn't usually launch mainstream models, and any of the brand's latest launches would be logical candidates.

Following the guidelines of LEGO with its previous Ultimate Series, we can know that the models chosen were very recent at the time, so it was not an option to select models older than 2 years, that's why we do not include in the list really incredible models like the Lamborghini Centenario (2016) among others.

With this information we decided to make this list with the latest models launched by Lamborghini:
  • Lamborghini Urus (4x4)

  • Lamborghini Huracán Performante Spyder

  • Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster

  • Lamborghini Aventador SVJ

  • Lamborghini Terzo Millennio (Prototype)

  • Lamborghini Sián

  • Lamborghini Huracán Evo

  • Lamborghini V12 Vision Concept Gran Turismo

Time to Discard!

Considering that the Ultimate Series is based on supercars, we were able to rule out several candidates:
  • Lamborghini Urus (4x4)
  • A 4x4 is not a supercar and certainly does not match the silhouette of the teaser

  • Lamborghini Huracán Performante Spyder
  • Lamborghini Huracán Evo
  • It was hard to rule out the Huracán models but the reality is that the Huracán are not supercar they are technically in an inferior class, despite being sports cars.

  • Lamborghini Terzo Millennio (Prototype)
  • Lamborghini V12 Vision Concept Gran Turismo
  • No doubt they are incredible models, but both are prototypes of the brand, so they are not a logical decision.

Final Candidates.

With the previous discards our list was considerably reduced, leaving us with these final candidates:
  • Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster
  • Lamborghini Aventador SVJ
  • Lamborghini Sián
With these final candidates it was time to get down to business and analyze the information we had!

Analyzing the Teaser Poster.

Open your eyes to the future and you’ll see it. Are you ready for @iaamesse ? #Lamborghini #IAA2019" IMAGEN Familiar verdad?

Exactly the same as the Lamborghini Sián Teaser.

Days before the presentation of the Lamborghini Sián at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Lamborghini dedicated in their social networks to publish different teasers about their next model, here you have some of the most important pictures:

Here it is, the Lamborghini Sián, we have no doubt that it will be the one chosen to be the third model of the LEGO Technic Ultimate Series

A choice that leaves us even more impatient to know what it will be like!

Metallic Green, the perfect time to bring him back?

© Ryan Howerter

More than 10 years have passed since LEGO last decided to use metallic green, a color we haven't seen since the early 2000s, when it made its appearance in the Bionicle sets.

A color that after so many years seems apparently retired, but it's the perfect time to bring it back?

In BrickDose we believe it, there is no doubt, the similarity with the original color of the Lamborghini Sián is evident and possibly it would be one of the justifications to the price increase of the next model of the Ultimate Series by LEGO Technic.

The pieces with metallic colors are not exactly common and LEGO has always avoided abusing their use in the sets, although in recent years has increased its use considerably, so it could be a logical decision, but certainly as it is such a large set could affect its price.

From BrickDose we remain expectant of the next release of the Ultimate Series and any information we have will be published as soon as possible, although following the guidelines followed in 2018, we will not have news until at least April or May.

We hope you have liked the research we have done at BrickDose, it is the first of many, if you have your own theories do not hesitate to leave them in the comments, we are reading them.
